Fleetwood Town Council meetings
You can find the dates and details of meetings of Fleetwood Town Council here
All meetings are held at the North Euston Hotel at 7pm, and the public are welcome to attend.
The council was established in June 2009 after a public vote which established that the majority of people in Fleetwood wanted it to exist. It’s a non-political council and since the elections in May 2011 two members are also Wyre Borough Councillors, and one is also a Lancashire County Councillor.
The Council now has offices at Poulton Road, Fleetwood, where the public can call in during opening hours. The contact details are on the left.
Three Youth Councillors joined Fleetwood Town Council for the 29th May meeting, one from each of Rossall, Cardinal Allen and Fleetwood High Schools.
Fleetwood Town Council consists of 13 members serving the five wards – Park, Pharos, Mount, Rossall and Warren. The public are welcome at the monthly council meetings which are held at the North Euston Hotel on the last Tuesday of each month at 7pm. Here, you can hear about what the individual councillors have been doing and what the plans are for the future.
Individual councillors represent the people who live in their Wards and throughout the town. Each month they attend various meetings and are involved in and informed about developments which affect Fleetwood and its residents. The public can raise matters of concern at Town Council meetings, or privately by contacting the individual councillors or the town clerk.
The current chair is Councillor Alan Marsh and the Vice-Chair is Councillor Stephen Clarke. All members actively work for the benefit of the local community and represent the council on various bodies, organisations and committees.
2012 was a busy year for Fleetwood. As well as Tram Sunday and the Carnival, the Olympic Torch came around the perimeter of the town.
On 4 June, Fleetwood Town Council asked the Fleetwood 175 Committee to organise a party to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee. The Marine Hall Gardens was the host for the event, from noon until 10.30pm, as the people of Fleetwood celebrated. You can find out more about the Diamond Jubilee Event here.
Regeneration of the sea front is completed at the Marine Hall and Marine Gardens. The return of the trams in early April 2012 opened the town to visitors from Blackpool and Cleveleys once again.
