After our street party in Harris Street, I ventured to the old Lifeboat Station where I often used to go crabbing. A celebratory ceremonial launch of the lifeboat was made in the afternoon, decked out with bunting and the Mayoral party in full regalia on the foredeck. As the boat hit the water from the slipway, all on board were drenched with the spray from the launch.
