Events at Fleetwood Library
Friday 4th May (2:30 – 4): Friday Crafternoons
On the first Friday of each month explore a broad range of creative ideas at our Friday Crafternoons. Have a go at eco-crafting, create a card for friends and family or stick to traditional knitting. Anything and everything crafty goes at our Friday Crafternoon session!
Friday 14th May (9:30 – 12:30): Mindfulness Taster Session
Mindfulness is a form of meditation, which can be practised anywhere and at any time, helping to prevent negative thought patterns before they affect your health. This taster session provides an opportunity to practise mindfulness and decide if it could help you. This event is free to all adults over 19 – for bookings please ask a member of staff or enquire at eventbrite.com
Wednesday 30th May (10:30 – 12): Creative Writing
Bring a pen & paper, fire up your imagination and join our new creative writing group on the last Wednesday of every month. All welcome.
Regular Activities at Fleetwood Library
Mondays & Saturdays: Tablet & Computer Class
Our free sessions run every Monday (10am – 11am or 11am – 12pm) for 10 weeks and aim to teach the basics, including using a keyboard, touchscreen basics, emails and even shopping. Anyone wishing to join is asked to register their interest at Fleetwood Library
Monday: Craft Group (13:30pm – 15:00pm)
Everyone is welcome to spend an afternoon with our friendly bunch of crafters – a great way to pick up tips or share your own. Facilities are available to make a cup of tea or coffee (small donation required)
Monday 14th: Self Help German – Intermediate (11 – 12:30)
Do you have a good understanding of German language? Would you like to participate in German language discussion? If so, then join our intermediate German class. During the class each member is asked to give a small presentation in German, which is then discussed by the group – to join simply turn up at the next meeting.
Tuesdays: Scrabble Club (14:00 – 16:00)
All skill levels are invited to spell their way to victory against our friendly group of Scabblers. Facilities are available to make a cup of tea or coffee (small donation required)
Tuesday 1st: Crime Reading Group (14:15pm – 15:15pm)
What are we reading this month? It’s a mystery! To find out what nerve-racking novel we’re discussing this month and to pick up a copy of our next book, simply attend our next group meeting
Tuesday 8th: Reading Group (14:15pm – 15:15pm)
Try something new and engage in lively discussion with our adult reading group every second Tuesday of the month. To take part attend our next meeting and request a copy of this month’s book.
Tuesdays: Fleetwood Library Friendship Group (10am – 12pm)
Do you want to escape the family for a couple of hours, or simply make new friends? Anyone and everyone is welcome to chat, make new friends and share stories – a great way to socialise.
Tuesdays: Evening Craft Group (4:45pm – 6:45pm)
Everyone is welcome to spend an evening with our friendly bunch of crafters – a great way to pick up tips or share your own. Facilities are provided at all our craft groups to make a cup of tea or coffee (small donation required)
Tuesdays: Chess Club (13:00 – 15:00)
Can you triumph in a battle of the mind? Come and test your abilities against our avid chess players – tuition also available for new players.
Wednesdays: Healthier Fleetwood (10 – 12pm)
Call in and find out more about the groups, activities and events in Fleetwood to boost residents physical and mental health and how you can get involved to support the community.
Wednesday: Dementia Coffee Mornings (11 – 12pm)
This New Year why not join us for a morning brew as we reminisce with our vintage collection of historic memorabilia. Delight at the wonders of times gone by whilst picking up handy tips for carers of people living with dementia.
Thursdays: Morning Craft Group (10:00 – 12:00)

Thursday 17th: Cryptic Crossword Club (10:30am – 11:30am)
Can you lend a hand to our merry crew of crossworders? Get your heads together and help to solve mind bending crosswords once a month at the library.
Thursdays: Story Time (2.15pm – 2.45pm)
Toddlers and pre-school children are welcome to join in our afternoon story time sessions – also a great way to meet other parents.
Fridays: Ancestry Guidance (9:30am – 12:30pm)
Every Friday our knowledgeable volunteer will be available to guide you through the ancestry website. Simply make an appointment at the library for help with Wyre history and discovering your lost relatives.
Fridays: Baby Bounce & Rhyme (11.30am – 12.00pm)
Sing, bounce and jingle every Friday morning in our bubbly Baby Bounce session. All the classic nursery rhymes feature as well as an energetic parachute session and musical instruments. All infants under school age are welcome to join in our lively sing-a-long.
Saturdays: Kids Board Game Hour (2:30 – 3:30pm)
We’re not bored here! From classic Connect 4 to junior bingo and hangman, there’s fun, thrills, excitement and even prizes to be won at our lively gaming afternoons!
Room Hire: Large room including private toilet facilities and kitchen available for hire. Please contact the Library to arrange a booking
